Botox

Botox treatments are used for the reduction and elimination of your facial creases, forehead lines and wrinkles, between your brows, and around your eyes.

A complimentary consultation with our nurse injector will assist you to choose a treatment plan. You'll benefit from a careful and complete discussion of indications and possible side effects.

Botox is made from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which in very dilute quantities has been used medically for over a decade, to treat medical problems.

The muscles of your facial expression are connected to the skin overlying them. After years of smiling and squinting, your muscle movement creates permanently indented lines and creases. By deactivating the superficial muscles attached to your skin, wrinkles "relax" and soften. Also, the formation of new wrinkles is prevented. People usually feel like they have achieved a "brow lift" without invasive surgery.

Inactivation of your frown lines is a simple procedure. A tiny amount of Botox is injected into the muscles that create wrinkles. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the discomfort associated with the procedure is minimal. Ice packs or topical anesthetic creams used before your treatment will decrease the discomfort associated with the injections. You will be able to resume your daily activities immediately after the injection. You'll be instructed not to massage the area, and to stay in an upright position for four hours, so the product will not disperse into adjacent muscles. It usually takes four to seven days for patients to see the treatment benefits.

Results generally last from three to six months. After subsequent treatments, effects can become longer lasting, even permanent in some people.
