It works best if you are slender, and not overweight. It restores a firmness and shape which you formerly enjoyed. Perhaps you'd like to wear smaller clothing sizes. If you smoke, or are currently overweight, you'd be unsuitable for this procedure.
PROCEDURE
Tummy tuck is done under general anaesthetic. A wide incision is made in the lower abdomen; extra skin and/or stretch marks can then be removed. An overnight stay in the operating facility or with a private attendant is recommended.

ask questions and even browse through some before & after cosmetic surgery photographs. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
All consultations with Dr. Bowman, our Clinical Esthetician, or our Nurse are scheduled in advance.

Since many patients wish to wear high-cut bathing suits, the incision can often be placed so the resulting scar is unnoticeable when swimwear is worn. You may wish to reduce some fat in the nearby areas. In this case, it may be possible to consider combining moderate liposuction with your tummy tuck.
After tummy tuck, you'll have some discomfort. Temporary swelling of the lower abdomen is common. Most people return to routine activities 3 weeks from the time of surgery. Another 3 weeks is required before the resumption of strenuous activities, exercise and sports. During your discussion with Dr. Bowman, your individual lifestyle will be considered.
Tummy tuck is a real surgery. Before you decide, it's important to learn about any possible complications, even though they are rare. These will be fully explained to you during your private consultation with Dr. Bowman. At that time, you will have an opportunity for a careful and complete discussion of your options and what is involved. You will benefit from asking all your questions and browsing through our photographs.

We have before and after photos in our office, and you'd benefit from coming to have a look at them, ahead of your consultation, if you wish. In the interests of confidentiality and privacy we don't publish them on the internet. The photos in the laser sections are provided by the manufacturer, and are not our patients.
